Name: Vivien
Age: 41
Contact: kirsteena@plurk
Other Characters: n/a at the moment
Interests: At the moment, any. Conflict with the Tevinter who have been app’ed is a huge bonus, and I just want to see Fenris deal with the weirdness that is surrounding him, while trying to keep him from killing mages (especially those from his home nation). Fenris is the kind of person who with a little poking, will get involved, especially if the likes of Varric is involved as well.

History
History be here
Fenris wasn’t romanced by Hawke, but he remained relative good friends with her - though there would always be a certain amount of rivalry there, given Hawke’s magical tendencies. Since the end of Dragon Age 2, Fenris drifted away from Hawke, showing no interest in continuing to help mages further - following Hawke was one thing, carrying on while chaos was breaking out all around him was a step too far. Instead, he was far more interested in dealing with the slavers from Tevinter who were making their way south to feed off the chaos. They may have thought that there was easy pickings with those running from mad Templars and mages, but Fenris, with his uncanny knack of finding the slaver’s hearts and pulling them out right in front of their colleagues, was determined to stop as many as possible.
Many whom he helped save tell stories of the white haired stranger who saved them, an unwitting folk-hero, but Fenris prefered to keep to the shadows, following his own path of revenge against those that would hurt others like he had been hurt.
Personality
He earned the nickname ‘Broody’ fairly - his past as a slave weighs heavy on him, even now, and he wears of the badge of tormented escaped slave a little too openly, his dealings with other people tend to be coloured by this - he is always wary, ready to go on the defensive and fight for his freedom - such as it is. In many ways he is judgemental in that he expects you to fall into preconceived categories, and doesn’t quite know what to do with you if you prove to be different to what he expects. He is slowly learning that his previous life as a slave doesn’t have to define how he lives from now on, but it is a slow process, as he has no clue what to expect from the future.
Scratch the surface, and earn a little bit of trust and you will find someone who is struggling to find his place in life, and to work out just who Fenris is now that he is free from his former masters. In his own way he cares for the friends he made in Kirkwall (even Isabela, yes). He just isn’t sure how to deal with friendship, or even what that involves, other than making sure that he isn’t hurt in the process. However, if you win his trust, he is loyal, if awkward toward you, and somewhat surprised he ever managed to make friends with you in the first place. He even manages to have a little bit of a sense of humour which he will show on occasion, mostly as a dry quip, or a half smile that looks a little strained, but is there.
He is a stubborn so-and-so - once he is set on a path, he is nigh impossible to move from it. His attitudes towards mages, and especially Tevinter mages hasn’t changed - if anything, watching the world fall into the mage-Templar war has only strengthened his opinions. He has no love for the Templars either, having seen the abuse they would carry out given half a chance. Frankly, if they could all go into one corner of Thedas and slug it out, he would be a far happier man.
Unlike most of his race, elven history holds very little interest for him. As far as he was concerned, elves were just held in Tevinter to be slaves, and he wants to distance himself from that as much as possible.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Fenris is a warrior through and through. He is of the lythe, fast variety rather than bulky, preferring to be an offensive warrior rather than defensive. Favourite weapon? A massive, 2 handed sword that is nearly as big as he is.
He cheats, though. His lyrium-infused brands allow him to pass through solid objects. He could use it for many applications, but his favourite is simply reaching into the chest of an opponent and pulling out his heart. Most satisfying. Those brands as both a strength and weakness for him. Strength in what it allows him to do, weakness in that they are extremely sensitive, and can cause him pain when they are touched - but they are also a visible reminder of everything he has gone through.
While in battle, those brands can allow him to fade, to become almost ghostlike, and difficult to track on the field, allowing him to surprise attack. He can also absorb a certain amount of magical attack without it doing any damage, and he can also generate uncontrolled flashes of energy, capable of doing damage within a radius of 8 metres, which can stun enemies as well.
He is unable to read so any messages to him will be ignored. He is, however, multilingual. He speaks Common and Tevene as a native, and has more than passing familiarity with the Qunari language.
Inventory
Blade of Mercy
The same spiky armor he had in DA2
Several pouches of coins
A few health/stamina potions
Motivation
Fenris won’t go willingly, but when he gets to hear of Tevinter magisters helping the Inquisition, he will head there of his own accord, to warn the Inquisition about the danger it is in, and if he can manage some assassination on the side, well…
He might even be persuaded to stay.

He’d tracked them for miles, keeping pace with the small group. It was easy, truly. They were slow, taking their time as they picked their way through the Hinterlands, the captors terrified and huddling together as if it would protect them from what was to come.
The odds should have been against him, but as Fenris ghosted into the small camp he managed to take out two of the guards before any attention was roused. There were just three left, and with the advantage of surprise on his side, it wasn’t long before the only one left standing was the head slaver - a man fat on the profits of his disgusting trade. There was only one answer, as he stalked up to him, phasing his arm so he could perform his favourite method of dispatching such lowlife.
“Please. Mercy.” The slaver croaked the words out, clutching onto Fenris’ arm, the terror pulsating from him as he realised just where the elf’s hand was.
“Did you offer them mercy?” he asked, giving a snort of amusement, before solidifying his arm, crushing the slaver’s heart and letting him fall to the ground. “No, I didn’t think so.” Now, all he cared about was getting out of here quickly. Those he’d freed would be pathetically pleased, and want to thank him, and frankly, he could do without that. Picking up the gold and other coins that were hidden around the camp, he left as fast as he could. At least he could buy some decent wine tonight.
